Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

Monday to Friday & Weekend Courses Are Available – Classroom Delivery

The CITB SMSTS 5-Day Training Course is designed for site managers, site agents, and anyone else who is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, controlling, and administering groups of staff and a workforce. To obtain the qualification, delegates must attend all days of the course.
The SMSTS certificate is valid for 5 years. After this time, candidates must take the SMSTS Refresher Course to renew their certification.
The training covers relevant legislation and other aspects that affect safe working in the building, construction, and civil engineering industries. It highlights the importance of risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of necessary control measures, and effective communication to maintain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

Monday to Friday & Weekend Courses Are Available – Classroom Delivery

The CITB SSSTS 2-Day Training Course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. By completing this CITB course, supervisors will gain the knowledge and skills they need to understand health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. The course will also highlight the importance of promoting health and safety in order to supervise effectively.
The SSSTS course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites.
Delegates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to be able to attend the course.

NVQ Construction Courses

NVQ Level 1

is designed for individuals starting their career in the construction industry. This qualification provides essential knowledge of workplace safety, site regulations, and basic risk awareness. It helps learners understand how to work safely, follow procedures correctly, and meet industry health and safety standards required for working on construction sites.

NVQ Level 2

is a work-based qualification for individuals who already have practical experience in construction or electrical work. It confirms your skills, knowledge, and ability to perform tasks to industry standards. This qualification allows you to gain a recognised status as a skilled worker and apply for the relevant CSCS card.

NVQ Level 3

is an advanced qualification for experienced professionals working in the construction or electrical industry. It demonstrates a high level of competence, technical knowledge, and the ability to carry out complex tasks independently. This qualification helps you progress to senior roles and apply for the relevant advanced CSCS card.

NVQ Level 6

is a higher-level qualification designed for site managers and senior professionals in the construction industry. It demonstrates your ability to manage projects, supervise teams, ensure health and safety compliance, and oversee site operations effectively. This qualification is widely recognised and allows you to apply for the Black CSCS Card.
